Product description
I became interested in tackling the use of everyday objects as new alternatives to conventional concepts. I wished to utilise a dimming effect without electronic control and a simple, elegant façade to hide all the electronic parts. Using a Perspex tube and sea salt, the table lamp ingeniously allows two different qualities of light. The 11 W PL-S can either be left exposed for a brighter light, or the tube can be rotated so that the salt covers the CFL for a more diffused effect. The tube is frosted to cut down any glare. A clear band is left so the user can appreciate the use of a natural everyday material. The design is a modern portable table lamp. It is sophisticated and elegant, but also contains an element of playfulness.
