Energy aid
Energy aid is discretionary State aid. Energy aid is primarily intended
for directing the solutions of energy production and consumption to a
less carbon dioxide intensive direction.
Energy aid can be granted for development of energy economy to become
more environment-friendly, to promote the take-up of new technology and
to increase the security and versatility of energy supply. The focus of
energy aid is on projects enhancing the take-up of new technology. The
aim of the aid is to further launching of the project and to reduce the
risks of new technology. Aid can be granted within the limits of the
parliamentary authorisation included in the State budget.
Enterprises and corporations are eligible for aid. Eligible corporations
are e.g. municipalities, parishes and foundations. Aid is not granted to
residential real estates, government bodies, farms, establishment
projects eligible for State support or to private persons.
The objectives of energy aid, projects supported, aid intensities and
other general terms are defined in the Government Decision 29/1999 on
the general terms and conditions of granting energy aid.
More detailed instructions on applying for the aid, eligible costs and
payment of the aid are given in the Decision by the Ministry of Trade
and Industry 210/1999 on the conditions for granting energy aid.
Grants for demonstration
and exemplary operations.
-
Demonstration operations
consist of the first full-scale implementation of innovative efficient
techniques or processes coming from the research & Development sector
or moved to a new sector. Rate of support: typical 30%, max. 40%.
-
Exemplary operations deal
with energy-efficient technologies that have already been tested (e.g.
through demonstration projects) but need to be disseminated at a much wider
scale. The objective of exemplary operations is to rapidly create national
and regional references. Rate of support: typical 20%, max. 30%.
